TeamCamp’s new service offers higher impact at less than half the cost of traditional residential activity centres. Built upon the latest research, our Residentials service includes the following benefits:
TeamCamp’s service is inspired by the Learning Away charitable initiative and their research into 'brilliant residentials'. This research highlights the powerful impact that residential activity weeks can have and that for best results:
We have condensed key learnings from the research into our Whitepaper, the 7 Secrets of a Truly Brilliant Residential, which you can download here.
TeamCamp's programme and learning structures are also underpinned by growth mindset principles, which are themselves supported by extensive research.
TeamCamp is halving the cost of residential activity weeks by adapting its previous summer schools service to scout centre setting.
TeamCamp runs the week, its programme, and provides all resources. This includes accommodation (e.g. dorm rooms) and meals. Exceptions are lunch on the first day (pupils to bring a packed lunch), sleeping bags and pillows (though we keep a few spares handy).
Activities include TeamCamp’s massively popular team games, sports, drama, role-play, and pupil awards. Optional components include numeracy, literacy, 'wow' activities such as high ropes or abseiling, and bespoke elements led by the school.
TeamCamp is an Ofsted registered provider and adheres to recommended best practices for child protection, health and safety.
All staff are vetted (with DBS, identity, and reference checks) and all our Camp Directors are trained in child protection (level 3 certification) before running a camp.
We maintain risk assessments, and work with the school to ensure that all relevant paperwork (e.g. incident reports) are maintained. A copy of our policies and procedures is available upon request.
Finally, we have ensured that all our processes surpass standards set by independent bodies such as Learning Outside the Classroom, the Scouts, and outdoor Catering events companies.
I must admit I was extremely impressed and feedback from staff, pupils and parents has been very good.
